ART DECO Solid Silver LARGE SUGAR BOWL Hallmark 1965 NR Elegant Design - GARRARD & CO-Superb Condn - 3 1/2 troy This is a really lovely VINTAGE solid sterling silver sugar bowl or sweetmeat bowl that was made in London, England in 1965 by the famous Victorian silversmiths, Cohen & Charles at their Holborn Circus workshops and retailed by Garrard & Company from their Regent Street workshops. This wonderfully stylish and fine quality bowl is in superb condition. This wonderful ART DECO bowl has a gorgeous rolled rim and is raised on a circular skirt base. The bowl measures 4" in diameter and stands 2 1/2" tall. It is NOT engraved. It is rather substantial - it weighs 108.8 grams - 3 1/2 troy oz. The bowl is in very good condition with a little less than the usual light surface scratching and NO splits or repairs, almost NO dings and NO dents and NO distortion - SUPERB. It is hallmarked C&C, anchor, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), Q showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1965. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A really lovely and very rare VINTAGE bowl from an illustrious silversmiths in superb condition after over 45 years as you can see from the photographs - at a VERY low start and NO RESERVE.
