This sword would make a nice addition for the Japanese sword or world militaria collector. ** Please scroll down to see additional photos. **This dress sword has a wire-wrapped same/rayskin grip. This sword has a leather saya/scabbard with fine gold gilt naval fittings. The guard is stamped with the naval anchor, and also with the 'harp' symbol (this harp stamp is also present on tsubas made for Yasukuni Shrine shin-gunto mounted swords) . The blade is more stout, and substantial than the blades on later swords. This sword measures 32 7/8" overall when sheathed in its saya. The sword blade itself measures 25 1/2".
