This is an antique wood shelf that I believe was for a telephone. There is a area for a phone book to rest and holes on the back piece to accommodate wiring. The wood looks to be walnut and there are some condition issues. There are extra holes, some of which are covered up by the brass ornaments, and one mounting hole on the right side is chipped. The shelf is actually quite sturdy when screwed to the wall. Measures 26-3/4" long, 9" deep and 9-1/2" at tallest point. A very unique old shelf.
