Antique Weis Mfr Co Monroe MI c1909 Quartersawn Oak 3 Drawer Filing CabinetFREE SHIPPING!Ships safe and fast to your door.Weis Manufacturing was a company founded by Andrew Weis of Weis Patent Paste in Toledo, Ohio. The company expanded its lines and grew quickly building a model plant in Monroe, Mich. around 1905 which at the time became one of largest companies in the country making stationers' and office specialties.This cabinet was found in a Central PA estate, the original and only owner since new, who's family line in that area go to the 1700s and earlier. The house we found it in was established back in the 1890s in Johnstown PA by the late Dr George Hay estate and this was the infamous doctor's personal file cabinet at home all these years! He passed away in 1970 and his son the late and notable actor George Austin Hay was the owner of the estate since then.Well developed patina giving this original finish a deep and dark look. All the drawers operate gracefully. No smoke!40 1/4" tall x 16 1/4" wide x 25" deep.Marked: Weis
