This offering is for an all original, Ca 1910's, Oliver No. 5 Typewriter. The typewriter is marked "THE OLIVER TYPEWRITER" on the metal plate behind the platen. Just above the keys reads "THE OLIVER No 5 STANDARD VISIBLE TYPEWRITER" and the bottom front rail reads "MANUFACTURED BY THE OLIVER TYPEWRITER CO MADE IN USA CHICAGO ILL KEEP MACHINE CLEAN AND OILED". The condition of the machine is very nice and as found and as seen in our photo's above. The machine seems to be in working order with all of the keys, space bar and the carriage return operating properly. There is no ribbon with the machine but it seems to type easily with a very fast action. The paper also feeds easily onto the platen. There is typical overall soiling, dirt and a bit of scattered light surface rust on the chromed parts, one of the rubber feet is missing. The paint seems to be fairly intact except for some minor losses but could use a proper polishing. The lettering and name decals are excellent with only minor losses and wear. In short, the machine appears to be complete and with a little effort should be perfectly usable. Please refer to our photo's for a good first hand look at the condition of the machine. Please also note that we have not cleaned the machine other than to dust it off and will leave the decision to do so or not to the new owner. The buyer
