All hand worked cross stitch and quilted vintage bedspread coverlet, bed cover. Made in USA about 1950s on white cotton with all hand stitched "circle of flowers" embroidery on 24 panels, all hand sewn quilting in lovely petal motif, set off by double rows of pink piping, and later added sides and short foot panel (made of cotton sheeting).Delicate cross stitches in shades of green, blue, pink and yellow. Perfectly executed by a skilled needle worker. Small neat stitches create the patterned quilting all done in white on white.Made as a quilt and then side and foot panels were added to made it into a coverlet or semi bedspread. Top measure fits my queen (65"across top) side panels have 21" hang. Length of quilt is 72" and another bottom panel adds about 7 1/2". In asking about these sheeting panels added to the quilt, I understand it was to create a coverlet of the quilt like a bedspread. These panels can be removed or sewn under as facings. The quilt has no signs of wear, holes, stains, repairs or odors, and still has light markings for the Hand stitched quilting pattern. The sheeting panels look as if they were usable bed sheets at one time and are in good condition.Payment due within 5 days from and of auction.
