Antique-Vintage Cigar Bands-Large 700 Piece Lot-Cuban-Havana-Philadelphia=MORE! Description *Welcome To My Auction* ************ Up for your bidding consideration is this recent estate sale find. It is a Very Large Antique-Vintage Cigar Band Lot of near 700 pieces. This item came from an estate of a family that was part of the cigar industry as you can see by the other cigar-cigarette items I have listed. A count of near 535 bands are glued down on old copybook paper so this lot is mostly for the collector that will enjoy looking at the different companies and their origin. Also for the graphics. The other near 165 bands are loose. These bands at one time were in a scrapbook of some sorts and then were cut down into small cutouts of an average of five. Some of the names seem to be from Cuba or Havana as I read that on the bands. Some from Florida and Philadelphia. Tobacciana is not a field that I am an knowledgeable in so please look at all the photos for your own decision on where they were produced. Some of the bands read: Helmar, Egyptian, Turkish, New Mexico, Black Jack, John Hay, Post Cigar Philadelphia, Colbert, Planco Habana, Sunol, La Rosa, John Carver, Lincoln Highway, F. R. and Co. Clear Havana, Belinda, Bell Telephone, Virginia Lee Mild Havana, Francis Wilson, Elegantes, Oklahoma, Palma De Cuba, Constitution, Turkish Trophies, Elder, Mogul, Cosmos Philadelphia, Murad, Bull Durham, Prince George, El Draco, Havana Brown, Atlantic City 1923, George Fox, Phila Club, Cubanas Victory Habana, Cuban Gentleman, La Mutua, La Abilidad Havana, Victor Victorola, Ben Bey, Kentucky Cardinal, Webster, Optimo Florida, Y-B Habana, Racquet Club of Philadelphia, Lord Beaconsfield Habana, Paul Jones, Rough Riders, M I Hogar, Harvester and so on. Those are the names in the first 100 bands. I see a very interesting one with William H. Taft. Another little lot of five that I pulled aside and is still loose has Edgar Allan Poe, Turkish Trophies with a Fox, Helmar Turkish Cigarettes with what looks like a Navy Vessel?, Murad with a Jester and Egyptian Cigarettes with an American Indian. The condition of ALL these bands is FAIR to Good with more of them having some paper loss on the ends and quite a few having loss to the band itself. As I noted earlier the better names in the lot are all glued down on copybook paper. The collector also had them numbered for his own way of being itemized as you can see by the writing of numbers next to the label. The loose bands that are not glued down are also in Fair/Good Condition but have rolled up over the years and their ends have loss. This massive lot is being sold as I purchased them and nothing has been pulled out of it so there may be some nice gems...possibly some rare and scarce.
