We have for your viewing and bidding pleasure an antique cast iron waffle maker, waffle iron. On the top of each iron in embossing it has AMERICAN No. 8, then the name GRISWOLD with their logo. Below this it has THE GRISWOLD MFG. CO. ERIE PA., U.S.A.. Then it is stamped 885. On the other iron it is marked the same as the first except it is stamped 886. Underneath the cast iron base it is embossed with the number 8. In another area it is stamped 975 C. On the top of the handle where it is attached to the base it has the name GRISWOLD with the number 8 embossed. The handles on the irons are both ventilated with twisted metal to dissipate the heat with wood handles inserted into these ventilated areas. We believe the wood handles to not be original but they make good replacements. The waffle iron is in good collectible condition with no damage such as breaks, cracks or repairs. Saying that, the base on one edge has a 1/8" deep by 7/8" long chip out of it. This is shown in a couple of the photos. All the metal is in its natural aged patina. The base and irons have a good deal of old time cooking residue. Obviously, it is well seasoned. We are listing this collectible GRISWOLD item at a no reserve selling price.
