Features: This is a very nice antique (Victorian era 1880 to 1890's) heavy ring for man could also be for larger woman . Made of sterling silver and solid 10K gold (of earlier alloyed with platinum type). Considered very rare (as in scarce) . Though, firm's trademark is either faded or not marked. Only one firm did this exact workmanship, the Ostby & Barton Company, Providence RI (USA), designed in 1875 and incorporated in 1880. Beautifully hand crafted with very impressive smith workmanship in an eye catching Roman head design. Firm worked with silver, gold and platinum in the earlier arts and crafts jewelry movement of late 1800's . It's heavy. Weighs 12.1 grams . It came from our family heirloom's Victorian era jewelry collection. It was very well kept and in excellent condition . Ring Size: Looks impressive on most fingers . Although ring is a size 12, it should also fit size 11.5 without any significant shifting, due this type of designed and its thick width shank. For those in other countries such as UK, Ireland, and AU , size 12 is X 1/2 and should also fit size X and W 1/2. Also, consider that right hand fingers tend to be a little thicker than left hand fingers, (same principle applies in case left handed).
