A BEAUTIFULL LATE 19 CENTURY VICTORIAN SKIRT LIFTER . THESE WERE DESIGNED TO RAISE AND HOLD A WOMANS SKIRT WHEN SHE WAS RIDING A BICYCLE. THIS PARTICULAR EXAMPLE IS A VERY ATRACTIVE PEICE WITH A BUTTERFLY SERVING AS THE TENSIONER ALSO GOT THE ORIGINAL CORD. THE INGRAVING ON THE SIDE SAYS REGISTERED SEPT 21 1876 ALSO FYFES PATENT.
