This is a wonderful antique Uneeda Biscuit Company store display case with glass lid that flips up.On the side it is indicated Property of The National Biscuit Company. Cookies and biscuits or crackers were shipped to stores in boxes and glass display lids, like the one offered here, which were placed so the customers could see the contents of the boxes through the protection of glass. The lid is in excellent condition considering its age and the fact that it was used and the box itself is in remarkable condition with no rust amd no major denting or wear. This measures 10 1/2" wide by 10 1/2" long by 2" high. The cloth inside was simply placed there by the original owner. PLEASE NOTE: A fellow ebayer sent me this note so please read. He knows far more than I about these boxes and I thank him: Lids were placed on cardboard boxes back in the 20s. Wood box has nothing to do with the lid or the company.
