~ AN ANTIQUE TOWLE SILVERSMITHS BOWL ~ MARKINGS on bottom include: The " LION T" Trademark with "STERLING" underneath & hand etched "5164" below. ALSO Stamped Marking of "8213" with a script "E" below. MARKINGS on handle: "925/1000 ?", the "LION T" marking, "STERLING" "62". I believe this is from the mid to late 1800's. Total Weight: 96 GRAMS Scalloped edging with beaded rim. Three (1/4") ball pedastal feet. Hinged ornate handle. Inside center of bowl is monogrammed (ETTN?). Top diameter of scalloped bowl measures 4 1/4". Heighth of bowl (without handle & including footed pedastal feet) is 1 1/2". Overall, VERY, VERY GOOD Condition with a couple of tiny dings. It does need some addition al polishing . This was an estate purchase & was heavily tarnished. I am not sure what pattern name is or what this dish was used for. I WILL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS or PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS. THANK YOU!
