This rareand beautiful handmade sautoir piece is from an estate collection of distinctive beaded flapper necklaces. Each one blends lovely period design and color with great handmade crafting. This particular piece combines brightly colored strands of tiny opal, green, yellow and millefiori art glass beads with dramatically larger, gorgeous Venetian millefiori oval and circular pieces that measure a bold 1 ¾” long by an inch wide. The effect is daring but elegant a look that was the rage in that period and a one of a kind fashion statement today. The necklace, which was stored away and is in very good condition, measures an impressive 56” long, and hangs down almost 28” when worn; the fringed centerpiece is about an inch wide by 5 ½” long.
