Antique Sandwich Glass "Flower & Sheaf" Glass Cup Plate, LR-40-A, The Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., c. 1830-1835. This Sandwich glass cup plate is one of the earliest of the flint lacy glass type and it is molded with thick glass. This has a flower design to the center, surrounded by diamonds, with sheafs of wheat in scallops around the rim. This pattern is Lee-Rose #40-A and a couple of variants are listed in "A GUIDE TO SANDWICH GLASS BLOWN TABLEWARE, PRESSED CUP PLATES AND SALTS" by Barlow and Kaiser, plate #1347. I offer this Sandwich glass cup plate here with no reserve and a Buy It Now. DIMENSIONS: The cup plate is 3/8" thick x 3 7/16" Dia. CONDITION: The condition is good with some small chis and nicks or roughness to the rim. There are also straw marks, bubbles, sand and other imperfections in the glass typical of glassware from this very early period.
