Antique original J & E Stevens cast iron mechanical Eagle and Eaglets bank. The paint and patina is lovely. Nothing has been restored. See photos. The bank measures about 6" tall, and the base is about 6.75" x 4". It is in working condition. To operate, place a coin in the eagle's beak and press the lever just under its tail. This causes the eagle to lean forward and drop the coin into the bank. As it does, the eaglets rise up slightly and open their beaks. The bank is all original. It is missing the coin box plug in the bottom. The bank originally had a bellows inside that was designed to create an eaglet chirping sound when the lever is pressed. The wooden components of the bellows and spring are there, but the metal squeaker, the holding screw, and bellows cloth sides are missing. One of the small eaglets has a broken wing piece missing (see photo). The base where it connects to eagle is cracked, but the bank is functional!
