I'm pleased to offer this "Most Unusual" ANTIQUE OKLAHOMA Indian Head IRON TRIVET. It measures 12" long X 8-1/2" wide X 1-1/2" thick, overall. Beautifully mounted in thick, laminated butcher block wood is a heavy, "days-gone-by" cast iron METER BOX COVER. Oval in shape, the cover itself measures 10" long X 6-1/2" wide. Embossed lettering on the cover reads: Ford Meter Box Co. - Wabash, Ind. - OKLAHOMA. Best of all however, is the "classic" INDIAN HEAD profile image at the very center. This famous image by Artist James Earle Fraser was used on the United States of America's 5-cent "nickel" coin from 1913 until 1938. Two patent numbers and the block letters "FYL" are embossed on the backside and the original spring loaded latch mechanism holds the cover permanently within the wooden frame. Sturdy RUBBER FEET allow for use as an "unconventional" COUNTER-TOP TRIVET and a saw-tooth hanger makes for E-Z wall display (see image). NICE & CLEAN with NO CHIPS, CRACKS, BURN MARKS or STAINS! (Residue from a long gone label remains on the underside). This "Antique" OKLAHOMA MOMENTO Cast Iron METER BOX TRIVET is in VERY GOOD "Previously Owned" CONDITION!SHIPPING: USPS DOMESTIC shipping charge is calculated from the buyers ZIP CODE unless flat rate shipping is offered. Please note that a $2.00 handling fee is included to cover the cost of commercial
