My great uncle, Powell Wilson, was a teacher at the New Mexico School for the Deaf in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the early 1920s. In appreciation for educating their deaf children, Navajo parents frequently gave my great uncle gifts. One of those gifts was this antique Navajo sterling silver and turquoise Thunderbirds cuff bracelet.The bracelet features two thunderbirds and a single turquoise stone. The construction is braided wire.
