FROM ANTIQUE SHOP IN PUEBLA, MX: #22 LPBEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF MEXICAN FOLK ART, IN BEAUTIFUL RUSTIC VINTAGE CONDITION:VINTAGE ANTIQUE LARGE 8 3/4" X 7" MEXICAN HAND-PAINTED RUSTIC TIN RETABLO, DATED 1915* ( * most likely, it was actually painted in early 1920's, when the artistic retablero family to whom belongs this signature, were most active in their operation in Puebla (which was until the end of 1950's). It is not unusual in Mexican culture to thank their favorite saints for the favors and miracles that occurred way in the past) . THIS PARTICULAR RETABLO IS featuring A MEXICAN WOMAN NAMED PASCALIA MENGES, WHOSE LITTLE BOY WAS SUFFERING FROM ILLNESS FOR WHICH NO REMEDY WAS HELPING, BUT WAS CURED BY SAN PASCUAL BAILON, TO WHOM SHE OFFERS HER INFINITE GRATITUDE. HIGHLY DETAILED!RETABLO IS FITTED WITH A HOLE FOR HANGING ON THE WALL.UNIQUE AND ONE-OF-A-KIND HAND-PAINTED RETABLO EXCEPTIONALLY DETAILED PAINTING! BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF MEXICAN FOLK ART!
