Antique Large J.W. Remy German Beer Stein with figural pottery finial. This is a very large stein, possibly 1 1/2 or 2L. It features a high relief outdoor scene with two German couples a trio of German ladies. It has a figural pottery form finial of a Renaissance style man in hat and long coat holding a shield. The ivory colored people on a dark cobalt blue background with green foliage and green holly berries around the stein. This one is a real find and very unusual, fantastic finial.The stein is in very good condition but has some small black spots near the top and the inside of the lid has a chip to the pottery. This is very minor and can only be seen with the lid open. Please see the detailed photos for best description. The bottom has the word "Germany" on it. There is no mold number listed, but based on many others of similar form, this is by J.W. Remy.Sold by RevivalHouseAntiques.com
