Description and Feautures: This is a very beautiful approx antique (art deco era 1910 to 1920's c) heavy 5 strand necklace. ALL made of heavy 12K gold filled of the rose gold filled variety. It's highly collectible and likely rare. Made by the Binder Bros, Inc, NY, NY, designed in 1910 c and incorporated in the year 1920. Has company's earlier 1900's marks of "BB" inside interlocking circle. (See 5th photo for close-up of marks). Also, it's marked: 12K GF . As a retired precious metals testing specialist, it test approx 1/10 of 12 gold filled . The older gold filled had other good quality alloy (other metals) such as silver and copper. Even the lowest of gold filled FCC standards of 1/20 of 10K is approx eagle to that of pure silver). Necklace has a very beautiful rosy yellow patina with NO wear. Necklace is well made. Has strong slide clasp which secures just fine. Necklace is a 17 1/4 inch lenght (as in inner circumference , with clasp closed, of course).With the other 4 of it's 5 strands beneath graduating longer. With clasp closed , inner circumference measures 17 1/4 inches. With 5 strands held together (such as upper portion) link widths total a little over 1/8 inch (about 4 mm per links). Necklace is very heavy. Weighs: 40. 8 grams. It was very well kept and in very excellent condition. Would make a nice gift. Or, own it yourself read more
