Stunning 19th century grand tour souvenir casket box with charming butterflies and stunning songbird on the lid. Signed "Tahan a Paris" total of five butterflies and one bird. The box itself is a little off center and the closure is not a hermetic seal. The velvet appears to have been replaced, but a long time ago. There is one missing butterfly vignette. All the vignettes are in great shape but will require cleaning and possibly buffing. The original leather or velvet on the exterior is quite disintegrated although the interior and bottom peach velveteen looks very good. No chips or cracks to the poetry dura, possibly spider poop accretions on bird vignette. Box measures 7" x 5" x 4", small vignettes are 1.75" x 1", bird is 5" x 3".Posted with eBay MobilePosted with eBay Mobile
