~Antique Figurine Pair ~ This is an extraordinary pair of gorgeous figures depicting 19th century flower sellers... a man and a woman with fabulous handpainted detail and outstanding color. Each stands on a raised reticulated base, with a little lamb at the feet of the woman and a dog seated by the man. The man holds a reticulated basket filled with intricate porcelain applied flowers, and the woman's apron is filled to overflowing with flowers. There is bocage decoration behind both of them and more flowers decorate the lovely bases. A wonderful size for display, each figure measures a large 13 1/2 " tall. Each is marked with a thin gold anchor on the back of the base, and impressed crossed arrows on the base (this fine French porcelain was produced by either Bloch or Samson after Chelsea). The display condition is very excellent; upon close inspection there are possible professional repairs to a few fingers and minor chips to some flower petals/leaf tips; the man's hat decoration is chipped but this is only seen from the top view.
