Antique French 18thc Aubusson Woven Tapestry Cushion Pillow c.1760 Verdure - 1 An unusual rare panel of 18th century Aubusson woven wool tapestry c.1760 mounted on a cushion / pillow. One of two listed this evening. This is recovered from an Aubusson verdure tapestry and consists of the foliage of a pear tree with a fruit. The colours are little faded despite over 200 years of use. There are old repairs and slits created in the weaving process at colour changes. Overall the tapestry is good, clean and strong. Antique French tassel trim to vertical sides and gold metallic banding top and bottom. Mounted on moss green cotton velvet and with a new feather cushion pad. Size: 19 ins (48.2cm) by 11.25 ins (28.6cm). The last photograph shows both cushions listed - this is for the long one at the back only. The other smaller square cushion from the same tapestry is listed separately. Please be aware that different computer monitors show colours differently!
