For sale is this very nice original antique Enterprise cast iron coffee or spice grinder in excellent working condition. The embossed patent date is October 21, 1873, and this piece was produced out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This grinder has the original wood handle, wood base, iron drawer, porcelain knob, and looks to have all of the original hardware. Measures approximately 11" tall with the wood base at 7.5" square. Please see the pictures to evaluate the condition. We see a few minor condition issues. It appears this grinder might have originally had a lid, but the iron hinge appears to have broken. However, most of these we see do not have a lid. The grinder does groan a little when cranked, so the mechanics might need a little oil or grease if you are planning to use frequently. This noise is also not abnormal for an antique iron grinder. The wood base and iron shows a bit of age and wear, but the condition is excellent when considering the age. Finally, there appears to be some wearing to the side of the porcelain knob. Ultimately, the fact that the knob is still intact is a plus for this piece, as we often see these with the porcelain gone. Overall, we consider the condition to be very good, as the presence of an intact lid would render this piece in excellent condition. An additional $3.00 handling fee is included to read more
