ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN 9CT GOLD, SAPPHIRE AND PEARL FLY BROOCH Antique Edwardian 9ct, Sapphire and Pearl Fly Brooch, in Very Good Condition This collectable item of 'bug jewellery' dates from around 1900 - 1910 and is made of 9ct yellow gold. The brooch features a fly, positioned at an angle over the brooch bar, and set with a genuine blue sapphire and variously sized lustrous, genuine, seed pearls. The sapphire is a lovely sparkly mid blue colour. This is a relatively small brooch which has a good solid feel to it, weighing approximately 3.1 grammes. Please note that the photos have been enlarged to show detail, actual measurements are given below. Weight Approximately 3.1 grammes Dimensions The brooch measures approximately 4cms in length. The fly's wingspan measures approximately 1.5cms across Hallmarks As is sometimes the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the brooch and fly have been professionally tested and have been found to be composed of solid 9ct yellow gold Gems 1 x blue sapphire, 9 x seed pearls Condition This brooch is around 100 - 110 years old and is in very good condition for its age with no damage and showing just light signs of age and general wear to the gold.
