Antique circa 1883 Riverside Glass Company Early American Pattern Glass Cabbage Leaf frosted covered dish. PLEASE NOTE that the photographs included with this listing are of the actual antique Cabbage Leaf covered butter dish set being offered. MEASUREMENTS TOTAL WIDTH: 6 1/4 INCHES TOTAL HEIGHT WITH LID IN PLACE: 3 1/4 INCHES. HISTORYCharles Brady founded the Riverside Glass Works in Wellsburg, West Virginia, in 1879; previously Brady at worked at Hobbs and Brockunier Glass. By 1880 the company was in full production and specialized in the production of pressed pattern glass. DESCRIPTION: This listing is for an antique Riverside Glass Company Cabbage Leaf lidded dish. The bottom of the dish is round in shape and carries the image of a head of cabbage done in frosted glass with a bunny on the bottom. The lid features the mother rabbit surrounded by three smaller baby bunny rabbits hiding in the cabbage leaves.The bottom of the dish carries a base ring with shelf wear indicative of a piece dating to the 1880's. CONDITION: This antique two piece Riverside Glass Company Cabbage Leaf butter dish set is in very good condition. There is a bruise on one of the cabbage leaves. The inner edge of the lid has a few flea bites on the inside. This antique covered butter dish has come from a smoke free estate collection and is odor free. Please read more
