Antique circa 1900 1 liter German stoneware beer stein by made by Dümler & Breiden of Höhr (now Höhr-Grenzhausen), Germany circa 1900. The stein features Falstaff and Bardolph based on a painting by Eduard von Grützner (1846-1925). It is mold number 571 .It has an ornate pewter lid and stands 11 1/2" inches high and 4.5 inches at widest pointThere are no chips noted. The outside of the pewter lid has turned dark with age. The only marks are 571 on the bottom and 1 L on the top side edge.
