Wonderful Antique Chinese Mirror Black Lidded Jar with beautifully detailed brass foot and nicely carved Chinese wood stand. The jar itself is 1850-1890 and beautifully decorated in gold with Chinese objects on a mirror black background. It depicts several older men playing with a ball. The porcelain jar itself is in two pieces - the base and the lid - the lid has an applied brass rim, the base an ornately detailed brass base - these were added when the piece was made into a lamp, probably in the 1920's. The piece is in good condition - painting is faded on the lid - and in some areas of the body. The wiring was just replaced, but hardware was kept, except for a pull-chain and its holder. Jar measures 15" tall to the top of the lid with a maximum diameter of 10" and is in excellent working order. Please ask any questions prior to bidding.
