Description...For auction is the 6th snuff bottle from a old collection of many Chinese carved snuff bottles with this particular one being made of a seldom seen brilliant tangerine orange color agate stone with matching cap or cover along with its original fitted hardwood stand. This fine snuff was produced in China sometime in the first half of the c1900s or probably around the 1930s to 40s for the export market and the estate manager said that all the Asian antiques were purchased by the couple from the 1950s through the late 70s and I only wish I could have purchased many more. The design is that of leafy branches and flowers growing up from the sides across both front areas coming from rockery at the bottom area with large and well done flower heads on the shoulders with the cap showing another open flower head with attached leaves in the most striking orange coloring. The bottle has a great chunky shape being thick with a well done surface polish and stands on a carved and pierced original fitted hardwood stand making this a nice addition to ones snuff bottle or Chinese carved stone collection.Condition...Both the bottle and the stand are in perfect condition with no chips, losses, repairs or restorations of any kind with the agate having only some of the normal and natural flaws such as a few darker lines and light colored
