A Copeland and Garrett Cup and Saucer and a Coalport Cup and Saucer C1835-40 Item description Copeland and Garrett (left side photo 1) The cup on a high pedestal base with a shaped rim and elaborate scroll handle, the coloured ground in pale blue with swags of finely painted flowers in bright colours and luxuriously gilded with an elaborate swirling scroll motif. The inside rim with a double decorative gold border and the handle completely painted in gold. The saucer also with a shaped rim and decorated to match with wonderful gold motif and similarly painted flowers. Coalport (right side photo 1) The cup on a high base with shaped rim and scroll moulding to the inside border, the handle of high 'D' ring form with a spur. The outside decorated with a tendril and flower motif band in gold and the inside bottom of the cup painted with a butterfly beside a finely painted arrangement of flowers in colours. The inner rim in 'buff' with large pale green leaves outlined in gold and eminating gold fronds. The rim with a gold line and the handle picked out in gold with small anthemion motifs in gold to the outer edge. The saucer also with shaped rim and identical border moulding and decorated to match with flying insects and flowers.
