VERY unique antique (circa 1860-1870) British iron and brass double/full size bed with canopy. Dimensions: 53" wide by 85" long. Has 3 round medallions on the footboard set in round bulleted brass frames with inlaid copper and mirrored stars used to ward off evil spirits. This was accomplished by setting mirrors around the bed, and when not-so-friendly spirits would see their reflection in the mirrors they would get frightened and go packing! The bed is missing three of the tiny brass balls that go on top of the finals on the head and footboard in addition to what would appear to be larger brass knobs or balls that would sit on the top 4 corners. Even though it needs a bit of TLC restoration this piece is an exceptional treasure and piece of history, as well as a conversation piece assured to deliver a good night's sleep. Priced at $765.
