This listing is for a rare, German candy container. It is a putz Santa sitting on a stump. The belsnickel opens up to reveal a cavity in the stump that would have held candy for a child on Christmas morning at the turn of the century. It measures 4 3/4 inches tall. The piece is stamped Germany on the stump's bottom and on the inside, too. The Santa is in great, antique condition with kind, well painted facial features. His boots are in amazing shape for their age. Most of the rabbit fur beard is gone, but the tiny tree is still present. From a smoke and pet free home.
