This rare coffeepot has a nice natural patina with a classically shaped body. This is a very rare American pewter coffeepot as Palethorp and Connell only produced a limited amount of pewter for about twenty years. I have sold alot of pewter during the past thirty five years, but I have never been able to offer a piece of pewter by this rare American pewter manufacturer before now. The teapot has an impressed mark on the base that reads,"PALETHORP & CONNELL - PHILADA.". This is the mark of Palethorp and Connell who worked out of Philadelphia, PA from 1820 to 1840. This mark can be found in "Guide To American Pewter" by Carl Jacobs, page 143, where pewter manufactured by Palethorp and Connell was listed as scarce, back in 1957. Wonderful large American Pewter Coffeepot offered here with a reserve. DIMENSIONS: 11 1/8" H. x 5 1/8" W. x 10 1/2" L. from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle.
