ANTIQUE ca 1900's FRENCH MAJOLICA IRIS AND ROSE PORCELAIN WREATH GRAVE MARKER~ MEASUREMENT: 11 1/2" across x approximately 4" deep" high / WEIGHT - 8 lbs.This is a very old and wonderful antique French majolica cemetery wreath dating late 1800's to the early1900's. Weather can be quite harsh in the winters, so instead of bouquets of live flowers, exquisite porcelain pieces such as this were used to decorate a grave. Done out of clay porcelain, this piece it features dimensional and highly detailed pink roses, purple Irises, and green leaves. All are attached to a black clay base. It can be displayed on a table, and also has holes on the back so it can be hung on the wall.Beautiful for any room of your French Country, French Farmhouse, Rustic, Cottage, or Shabby Chic home.~ CONDITION: For being 100+ years old and being out in the elements, this piece is in amazing condition! I see one small chip to one of the rose petals and some very old small nicks to the leaves. All just part of its antiquity! Absolutely nothing that takes away from its overall viewing beauty!
