I recently acquired an extensive antique Chinese/Asian collection. I am now listing the woodblock prints and art portion of this estate collection. Many rare woodblock prints from the one owner estate.Up for auction is an original antique Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Kunisada dating from 1857. The wood block is titled "Usugumo, Wisps of Cloud: Chapter 19" and from the series titled "The Bell cricket". Published by Kichizo Tsutaya and is marked with the publishers seal and artist as seen in the photos. Rare woodblock print to find and seldom offered for sale. Great colorful image and detail. Woodblock print is in very nice original condition. Has some minor edge and corner wear, no tears, minor fauxing, no major creases or folds and no water damage. The woodblock is being sold as you see it in the photos. Has not been cut or trimmed. Actual woodblock print measures approx. 9 3/4 by 13 7/8 inches. Very rare woodblock print and would look great framed. Found safely stored away for years at a recent 95 year estate of along time collector and from a smoke free home. Please check my other auctions for other Asian antique items from the same estate, including other Japanese woodblock prints.
