Antique Map of Leicestrensis Comitatus by Joan Blaeu (Leicestershire) England Circa 1645 Hand Colored w/ Coat of ArmsItem DescriptionNote: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great Antique Map of the Leicestershire England for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! This is a beautiful antique map engraving. The map was originally done in 1645 by Joan Blaeu. Called Leicestrensis Comitatus. The map captures the area of Leicestershire. Great Coat of Arms on the piece in the lower left hand corner that goes back to Robert Due Bellemont in 1000AD.Some minor foxing or brown spotting. The map was once folded down the middle. We see minor tears outside of the hand colored areas of the map. All the map is there. Edges have some wear. One can see a crease in the right lower corner. Not sure what version of this map this one actually is. Any help with that would be much appreciated. Thanks. The engraving was professionally mounted in a brown colored wood frame with pressed detailing. The is no paper backing on the back of the piece. The frame is hung by two metal hooks at the top, there was never a hanging wire. The glass over the map is intact, no cracking or blistering. Some pencil writing in the top left corner of the map.A cherub on the coat of arms
