Andrea BrownPolychrome Bowl #15 15.25"d x 3.5"h Brown stoneware, cone 10 reduction2019Andrea Brown of Fire Garden Pottery holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University, Medford, Mass. Her formative years were spent in the rainy Northwest. There the roots of her artists' sensibility developed under the instruction of Northwest sculptor, Ray Jensen. Her works include oxy-acetylene welded sculptures, paintings on paper, and mixed media objects and installations. Currently Andrea creates wheel-thrown, functional and art pottery at Mudflat Pottery Studio in Somerville, MA, studying with artist/potter Howard Gerstein. She finds inspiration in both the external and internal worlds.The purpose of this auction is two fold; to raise direct funds for artists in our community and to bring our community together with a common purpose of solidarity and empowerment. A portion of this items proceeds will be going to CERF+. CERF+ was started by artists for artists in the craft community as a grassroots mutual aid effort in 1985 and has since emerged as the leading nonprofit organization that uniquely focuses on safeguarding artists' livelihoods nationwide.
