This auction is for a CGC 8.0 graded copy of Amazing Spider-Man #101. CGC Universal Grade. Off-white pages. Marvel Comics, 10/1971. This key issue features the first appearance of Morbius, the Living Vampire (Doctor Michael Morbius). It also features an appearance by Lizard, and it is the last 15 cent issue. Roy Thomas story, Gil Kane cover, Gil Kane and Frank Giacoia art.I have had this comic in my collection for many years and have been very happy with it, and am only selling it having recently ''upgraded'' to an even higher graded copy. As you will see in the pictures, the front cover is in amazing shape, perfectly centered, with super-bright colors and luster, and if just comparing the front cover alone it stacks up against 9.0 graded comics; from what I can tell, the flaws keeping it away from a higher grade have to do with imperfections on the back cover. To me, that made this particular comic a great chance to own a showcase quality copy of this key first appearance issue, at a more affordable price point than other books that look equal from the front but have a higher number on the label.
