Alex Raymond Secret Agent X-9 Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-2-34 (King Features Syndicate, 1934). Alex Raymond's pulp magazine illustrator-influenced drybrush inking is at its best in this exciting episode from 1934, the first year of the feature. Raymond may have been inspired to use this inking technique as the strip's writer, Dashiell Hammett, was a renowned writer for the pulp magazine, Black Mask. This daily done in ink and blue pencil over graphite on Bristol board daily has an image area of 25" x 5.5", and aside from slight edge and corner wear, and a fold through Panel 2, the art is in Very Good condition.HID03201242017 Grade: 0, Service: Uncertified, Service No.: 1380852
