A rare complete refresher course book for the ALCO Diesel-Electric GE Locomotive School in Schenectady, New York, Class #134, May 19th to May 23rd, 1952. Also included is the student, Sylvester M. Watkins from Hornell, New York, correspondence with W.T. Dunnett, Instructor for the ALCO-GE School.The class enrollment sheet is included with 37 names and the railroad or company they were from and their position & location. Mr. S.M. Watkins was from the Erie Railroad, and was a General Foreman from Hornell, N.Y. Other students were from the Canadian Pacific RR, New York Central RR, Pennsylvania RR, Reading Co., Seaboard Air Line, and St. Louis & Belleville. Also included , on an American Locomotive Company letterhead, is a response to specific questions Mr. Watkins asked after the completion of the class, dated May 28th, 1952. It also has with the letter enclosed the answers to the questions in the Study Guide. The Study Guide is the 5th sectional booklet included within the complete Locomotive School book. The other sections were Fundamentals of Diesel Engines, Excitation System and Power Plant Regulating System, Cooling Water Temperature Control, and the Schematic Connection Diagram. Mr. S.M.
