This is the same button we offered back in our January 2007 auction which realized $506. The button is in superb color and 1.75". c. 1900 from the Troy, N.Y. firm the International Shirt & Collar Co. noted for bizarre button designs featuring camels and Shrine Lodge members holding conventions in the city. Only 20% of the company logo and W&H back paper remains, but the cello is clean and NM. While the button promotes the company, it pictures, in uniform, a member of The Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm. This was a group comprised of Master Masons "founded on fun and fellowship and playing practical jokes on one another". One known. Rare.
