Thiswonderfully carved brush pot shows several scenes, most importantly the scholar at his desk. The trees and their foliage are superb and the juxtaposition with classical mountains is outstanding. What sets this pot apart in our estimation is: Look at the faces of everyone…they are smiling. This is a cup of confidence and high spirits that makes us glad and projects positivity into our future. It imparts such a wonderful spirit we recommend looking at it in times of stress or heartache. Even the seated figure at the side of a mountain bears a countenance of smiling contentment. Size is 6-3/4” tall by 5-1/8” in diameter ( 17.1 cm by 13 cm ). As many of you know, we are selling our collections in preparation for our retirement where we will have much smaller quarters than we have filled over the years. We thank you for your patronage and kind words though we are somewhat embarrassed to bare our endless possessions in front of the world. Please the collections we are selling.
