23" BIBSY DOLL by Ideal. Did you own a BIBSY doll as a child and now wish you had one like her? THIS could be your opportunity! She is in very good pre-owned condition. She is clean and odor free. She is from my private collection. This doll was manufactured from 1960-63. To be in the neighborhood of 60 years old, she is in very good condition. She holds a pose very well. As she is a baby doll and her knees/feet are in a bent position, she does not stand. She has all fingers/toes with no scuff or chew marks. The back of her neck is stamped IDEAL TOY CORP. D-20-1 and her back is stamped IDEAL TOY CORP D-23 ( see picture). She has a beautiful blushed baby coloring to her with very good facial paint. Very little scuffing from play. Her entire body maintains that beautiful soft peachy color. She does have one small dark colored dot to the left of her belly button, but in no way does this distract from how beautifully she displays. She has all her rooted hair without having been cut and it is soft, silky and very thick (see picture). Eyes work perfectly and are clear with no clouding and all lashes are present. She has beautiful face paint. Her mouth maintains an open position allowing you to also see her tongue. It gives you a reminder of a real baby's adorable toothless grin! And her little button nose nestled between those chubby little cheeks! When she was introduced, you could feed her with a bottle/spoon and when finished you squeezed her body slightly and she made baby sounds and her mouth "dribbled" just like a real baby. She also came with a bib...thus her name BIBSY. Unfortunately, she no longer makes the baby sounds. She is display ready as this is exactly how she has been displayed in my doll room. She will come to you in her diaper, NOS white ruffle socks, and black patent soft sole baby shoes. She was originally dressed in red/white when first introduced. The outfit she is wearing is not original to the doll but is original to the era from which she comes. I have also attached a reproduction of the original wrist tag she came with. So that you can see how sweet she is, all these details have been photographed. She is very well made and heavy. Please look closely at the pictures as they are part of the description. The doll is 60 years old, has been loved previously by small hands but has minimal play wear. This doll would be both a unique and beautiful addition to any doll collection. This doll is HARD TO FIND in this condition.There is no original box. Doll will come to you in the outfit pictured and the hang tag.
