Graded NM 7 by PSA (80359877). Hall of Famer. Beloved Houston Rockets center Yao Ming is the star of this wholly unique Topps Finest Patchworks SuperFractor collectible. The cardfront presentation is highlighted by a multicolored game-worn jersey patch. With so many top international players playing a prominent role in the modern NBA (including the past five league MVPs), it is easy to forget that Yao Ming's number-one overall selection in the 2002 NBA Draft was a then-unparalleled phenomenon. The first international number one NBA Draft pick to never play American college basketball, Yao showed fans that he was far more than just a skyscraping shot-blocker: he also had deft post moves, a composed passing touch, and a rock-solid mid-range jumper that belied his 7-foot-6 frame. Yao had such a cultural impact that, in his rookie year, the NBA distributed a portion of All-Star ballots in Chinese for the first time, and the Rockets center was selected as a starter to the All-Star Game ahead of Shaquille O'Neal, who had won the past three Finals MVP Awards. A statement on the card affirms the manufacturer's guarantee of authenticity for the piece's content and serves as the item's COA. Additionally, a holographic Topps label is adhered to the card's back. The limited-edition piece is serial-numbered "1/1."
