19th Century Lithographs of European Clothing & Décor. From Le Costume Historique by A. Racinet, Paris: Librairie de Firmin-Didot et Cie, 1876. A lot of forty-three illustrations from Racinet's beautiful early study of clothing throughout history. Included are nine chromolithographs, one of which is double-page and thirty-four two-tone lithographs, featuring the dress, décor, architecture, furniture, and styles of Europe from the middle ages through about the 18th century. Each plate measures 7.5 x 8.75 inches. Included with the lot are the explanatory pages, in French text, that describe each plate in detail. The paper has toned slightly giving each plate a warm patina and attractive appearance. All plates are in very good condition. These lithographs, when framed and matted, would make exceptional decoration for the home, office, school, or business. Grade: 0, Service No.: 0
