For more than 30 years, James Anthony Crowley has been pushing the boundaries of sports art with his cutting-edge portraits, as well as partnering with major patrons like the NFL, the Espy Awards, the Babe Ruth Museum, the L.A. Kings, New York Giants, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Although Crowley's style is all its own, he has drawn inspiration from graphic art, street graffiti and Warhol-like Pop Art motifs. Subjects and commissions have included Bird, Montana, Gretzky, Barkley, Magic, Campanella, Mantle, Nolan Ryan and, as seen here, Troy Aikman.The NFL officially commissioned Crowley to create this large, dynamic tribute to Aikman's Super Bowl XXVII MVP performance. It's an Artist's Proof serigraph titled "Sunday Rush," numbered "15/27," measuring 33" x 44", and signed by Aikman as well as by Crowley. Beckett LOA.
