1953 ROYAL WINTON GRIMWADES ENGLAND ESTHER CHINTZ ON BLACK TEAPOT, CREAM & SUGAR Item Description You are buying one (1) authentic, vintage Royal Winton Grimwades ‘Esther’ tea set dating from 1953. This classic, beautifully elegant tea set features brightly colored wildflower chintz contrasted against a sleek black background highlighted by edges trimmed in 22K gold. The bottom of each piece is marked with a “Royal Winton Grimwades Made in England” trademark and the “473” pattern number. The teapot and creamer are also marked with the “Esther” pattern name and “CAN. RD. 1953”. This teapot holds three to four 8-ounce cups and measures approximately 5-1/4 inches tall (with lid), 5 inches in diameter and 8-1/4 inches long. This 6-ounce cream pitcher measures approximately 3-1/2 inches tall, and this sugar bowl measures approximately 3-3/4 inches in diameter. This 65 years-old tea set is in EXCELLENT condition. The colors are vivid, and the details are distinct. There are no chips. Please note there is some crazing of the outer surface of the teapot and the white areas of the sugar bowl, and the teapot lid shows slight wear. See the photos for further clarification.
