On offer is a very RARE ANTIQUE late 1800/ early 1900 PEEK FREAN "CARNATIONS" BISCUIT TIN. Printed on the surface of the hinged lid and all side walls of the base tin are carnations . Around the rim of the lid is printed PEEK FREAN & COs and BISCUITS LONDON. James Peek and George Hender Frean founded the company at Bermondsey London in 1857 . They moved to Clements Road in 1866 where the factory remained until 1989.Peek Frean and Co's biscuit factory gave Bermondsey the nickname 'Biscuit Town' for popular creations that included the bourbon and the Garibaldi. The tin measuring 17.5 cm X 12.25cm X 6.75 cm is in a good condition as can be seen from the photographs. This tin will make an interesting addition to a collection
