This cute “speed” reading bear wind up toy was made in Japan in the 1950s. The toy name is “Cubby the Reading Bear”. Made of tin covered with felt and plush. Toy is 7” tall, made by Alps of Japan. The back of each shoe is marked “Made in Japan”. When wound with the attached key, Cubby turns the page and his head moves up and down as if reading. When he gets to the end his left hand closes the book and he starts the book over. He is in very good condition and works well he comes in his original box as some tape but still in fair condition.
