Offered for sale: A very rare German water mill with dwarves music box. Manufactured at the famous Steinbach factory which is most noted for their nutcrackers, however, during the early days, they mainly produced wooden music boxes and figurines. This very RARE item was made in the Western Zone of Germany, dating it to the late 1940's-early 1950's. This music box has Thorens Swiss movement and plays "Es klappert die Mühle" (The Rattles of the Mill). Plenty of pictures are provided to enable you to assess the overall condition of the music box. This truly is a survivor and almost impossible to find.The mill clatters at the rushing stream. After winding, the plate with the house rotates as the mill wheel turns and the hammers go up & down.
